Proposing a work placement

15/10/2007
In 2008, the International Business and Management School of Pau renews its internship experience to allow its students to carry out concrete missions in your company.

The training periods which last from 3 to 18 months are described in the attached document. Our students are proficient in English after a compulsory six-month stay in an English speaking country and are used to international business patterns.

This is a good opportunity for your company: our students are skilled in fields such as Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Communication. If you are interested in our partnership, feel free to contact us or print your offer online. Before going abroad, the student has already completed all legal required formalities
( Insurance, Social Security Registration, etc).

Check the link below for further information. The work placement form must be returned to Jean-Marie MAZET (jean-marie.mazet@esc-pau.fr)

Testimony from Rachel NICHOLSON

Rachel NicholsonAs part of the ESC Business course in Pau each student is required to complete a six month internship abroad. The aim of this individual project is to gain professional insight into the business field of our choice. My wish being to specialize in the marketing field with an international perspective, I obtained a project with L’Oréal India in Bangalore. I completed this internship from June to November 2006.
The assigned project was to carry out a market research on the Dermo-Expertise range by L’Oréal Paris. It was in fact a customer satisfaction study among users of premium skin-care products in Bangalore and thereby fine-tuning the marketing mix of Dermo-Expertise products.

The outcome of the project was to enable the company to understand what influences the customer to purchase and what are the main attributes of the product appreciated (or not) by the consumer. The complexity of the task was to understand the various behaviors of the consumer and to be able to come to conclusions and suggestions for the company through my analysis.

Undertaking this internship was challenging as it was my first opportunity to do an individual market research in a real working environment. Obtaining the project with L’Oréal India was a great opportunity for me, offering me a chance to use my knowledge and skills for one of the world’s top multinational companies. It was an enriching experience in many ways. As a student, it enabled me to imbibe the valuable knowledge related to market research and helped me to identify best marketing practices and look at the aspects of business, its products and its process. Moreover, the months I spent in India (11 months) were a great experience in itself, opening my eyes onto a very rich and complex, sometimes contradicting, culture.
