Conference > Internationalisation of SMEs
|
1st-3rd Dec. 2010 |
Under the patronage of Mrs. Anne-Marie Idrac,
French Secretary of State For Foreign Trade
In Pau Business School, we are strongly interested in SMEs internationalisation and particularly in the internationalisation adopted by some of them commonly called Born Global Firms (BGFs) or International New Ventures (INVs). With some scholars from European, American and Indian Business Schools we organize an international conference about the "internationalization of SMEs" on December 1st-3rd 2010.
Very few events have been fully dedicated to the large spectrum of the SMEs internationalization. SMEs are an essential source of employment, innovation and growth. They are all-important for economic and social cohesion. They constitute agile and flexible actors in an increasingly complex globalization. SMEs meet the challenges of an ever-changing business environment.
The iSMEs conference will aim at giving more visibility and relevance to the internationalisation of SMEs, reviewing current trends, new theories, last experiences and exchanging best practices. To do so, we lay the foundation stone of a regular event which will take place one year in Europe and one year in an emerging country. It will provide a forum for active discussion and cross-learning open to scholars, entrepreneurs, consultants and business leaders.
The conference aims to bring together professionals interested and involved in the internationalization of SMES from western nations and emerging countries. Our aim is to strengthen the innovation capacity of SMEs, to promote their competitiveness and to continue the path towards sustain development.
This international conference iSMEs is organized in partnership with the International Association of Research on Entrepreneurship and SMEs (AIREPME). Moreover, two major scientific international journals are our publication partners for the conference. The English Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development (JSBED) will publish a special issue composed of the best English papers. The Revue Internationale des PME (RIPME) will consider and review for submission (fast track) some selected French papers. And the Pau Chamber of Commerce sponsors the conference.
